Flexibility in companies, agile work, empowerment… A great evolution!

Change was already palpable, theorised and gradually applied, but Covid-19 crisis has spectacularly accelerated many transformations in the work environment.

Reinvented, work becomes agile

For a long time, the word “work” has referred to both the place and the practice of a profession. Redefined by a changing work world, it is becoming “agile” and offers the opportunity to practice one’s profession where, when and how one wishes. Without constraints of time or space, but not without rules.

In this new professional environment, flexibility for employees is not an exception but a prerequisite. Agile working proposes, beyond the individual needs of each employee, to rethink the whole organization and functioning of the company.

Where flexibility gave employees back control over the use of time and place of work, whether at home or in the office, agility introduces principles of ownership, empowerment and responsibility of workers. A concept also known as “empowerment”.

Freedom, flexibility, responsibility, the three linchpins of empowerment

Empowerment is a new-generation management method and a win-win model. Thanks to self-determination, employees of agile companies would be more invested and more motivated, thereby improving the productivity, responsiveness and performance of their company.

Proven in real conditions with Covid-19 crisis, the model should be considerably extended in the coming months, democratising telework and accelerating the development of the tools necessary for its implementation, such as research, training and support for eligible employees.

A change in practices that should be accompanied by greater consideration for the well-being of employees, whether in the fluidity of exchanges between professional and personal life, in the provision of services or in the creation of high value-added spaces within traditional office buildings.

These changes guide the refurbishment of Origami office building, offering versatile workspaces, a rooftop, a lobby, a coffee corner, open spaces, relaxation areas. It is adapted to all possible layouts: private or shared offices, formal or informal work areas, areas for breaks and social interaction…

Countless design possibilities to customise and explore using the Shape your space tab.
